Ottawa holds emergency cabinet meeting to try to salvage Trans Mountain project

Members of the Trudeau government have emerged from an emergency meeting on the Trans Mountain pipeline expansion, saying they are more determined than ever to get the project built — over the objections of British Columbia.
Natural resources Minister Jim Carr says they considering various options.
He would not comment on Alberta Premier Rachel Notley’s threat today that her province will simply buy the whole project from Kinder Morgan.
The company has said it will not pay for any more non-essential expenses after B-C’s obstructionist tactics.
