December brought some picture-worthy moments around Saskatoon, from local sports to holiday giving and Cirque du Soleil.
Here’s a look at some memorable moments Saskatoon StarPhoenix photographer Michelle Berg and freelance photographers shot last month, noting the date of the print editions in which they ran.
Dec. 4: Time for a break
University of Saskatchewan Huskies defenceman Parker Gavlas attempts to get by Mount Royal University Cougars defenceman Connor Blake during Canada West men’s hockey action Dec. 1 at Merlis Belsher Place. Mount Royal swept the two-game series with a 3-1 win Dec. 1 and 7-4 victory Dec. 2. Dec. 5: Bumpy ride

Dec. 22: Skating rink opens
Marquis Bradley and daughter Grace enjoy their first skate of the year on Dec. 20 at the Cameco Meewasin Skating Rink, which is open for the season.
