NAIT welcomes Melanie Rogers as Vice-President, External Relations - Rogers brings over 20 years of post-secondary experience to the polytechnic

August 12, 2021

NAIT is pleased to welcome Melanie Rogers as the polytechnic's new vice-president external relations. Reporting to the President and CEO, she will lead a broad portfolio including marketing, communications, digital and web strategy, fundraising and alumni relations.

With over 20 years' experience within the Alberta post-secondary sector, Rogers brings a keen understanding of and passion for higher education.

Rogers comes to NAIT from Mount Royal University (MRU) where she has led the marketing and communications portfolio for the past seven years following a series of leadership roles there. As associate vice-president of marketing and communications, she played a key role in the development of the strategic plan framework, launched several successful brand and marketing campaigns, and led the MRU crisis communication team through various challenges, including the COVID-19 pandemic.

Before joining MRU in 2004, Rogers held positions at Red Deer College, Augustana University College and the University of Alberta. She also served as the executive director of the Red Deer Downtown Business Association.

Rogers joins NAIT's executive team at an exciting time, as the institute gets ready to launch a new strategic plan, celebrate its 60th anniversary and welcome thousands of students to campus for the fall semester.

Rogers will start at NAIT on Monday, August 16.
