Wanham-raised volleyball player named U Sports Player of the Week

An athlete from the Peace has been given some national recognition from U Sports, the body that oversees university sports in Canada.

Wanham’s Quinn Pelland has been named the Player of the Week in women’s volleyball.

U Sports says Pelland had a total of 77 assists and 32 digs in what the organization describes on its website as “a pair of massive performances” last weekend.

Pelland’s Mount Royal University Cougars won two matches on the road against the University of Alberta Pandas, 3-0 and 3-1.
