Olds College has named Connie Young as its new chief financial officer and vice-president of corporate services.

Young was selected to oversee the areas of Business Services and Finance, Information Technology and Facilities Operations, which includes maintenance, capital projects and aspects of campus housing and food services.

“As Olds College continues to grow and contribute to Alberta’s economic future through relevant academic and applied research programming, I believe that Connie will be a strong leader for our financial, business and operational activities,” said president Stuart Cullum.

Young will be joining Olds College after serving as associate vice-president with Finance and Commercial Operations at Mount Royal University.

She brings with her 16 years of experience working in higher education where she has led financial, audit, risk and commercial operations portfolios.

“The college has a long history of innovation, and is leading impactful advancements in agriculture and academic programming. I am honoured to be part of this exciting time at Olds College,” Young said.

Young holds a Bachelors of Commerce degree from Athabasca University as well as a CPA and CGA designations. She will begin her new role at Olds College on Sept. 20.
