MCC women's player taking hoops skills to Canada

McCook Community College women’s basketball player Itziar Aransay Badia has signed a letter of intent to continue her career in Canada.

Badia, a 5-8 guard from El Prat d Llobregat, Spain is going to Mount Royal University in Calgary, Alberta.

She played in 27 games as a sophomore and averaged 3.6 points and 2.0 rebounds per game, shooting 36.6 percent from the field and 30.2 percent from the 3-point line. She scored a season-high nine points against Laramie County Community College Nov. 4.

For her career, Badia played in 52 games, scored 152 points, averaged 2.9 points and 1.4 rebounds per game.

The Cougars play in the Canada West Conference of the U Sports League.
