This week’s Thursday Thunder player is Jared Miller, presented by Save on Foods. Miller wears number 22 on the Airdrie Techmation Thunder team.

Miller plays forward for the Thunder and this is his first season playing for the team. Miller has played for multiple teams including the former Korean Oil Barons and the Lloydminster Bobcats. Miller says that the Airdrie Thunder is a great team and is hoping they make it all way to provincials this season.

"Our team goal is just to go all the way and go to provincials and I feel like we have a great group. We have a lot of depth through our team, and a lot of great guys that have been leaders and played high-level hockey throughout their careers,” he said. “I feel like when we're at our best, we can play with every team in the league.”

Miller grew up in Crossfield but moved to Northwest Calgary a few years ago.

When not playing hockey or practicing, Miller goes to school at Mount Royal University for business and says he is enjoying going back to school.

“It's pretty interesting. I'm enjoying it so far and it's definitely nice to get back to school.”

The Thunder’s general manager Shaun Guest said that Miller contributed by scoring and killing a lot of penalties.

So far this season, Miller has played 21 games with Airdrie Thunder and has eight goals this season with nine assists for a total of seventeen points.

The Thunder’s next game is Friday, January 20 when they face off against the Rocky Rams.
