CAMPUS ROUNDUP: MRU advances to Canada West women's hockey final, nationalsBack to video
The third-seeded Cougars defeated the host and No. 2 University of Alberta Pandas 2-1 in the deciding Game 3 of their semifinal series at Clare Drake Arena on Sunday.

Sydney Benko scored the game-winner on a power play with just over five minutes remaining in regulation, after Laura Cook pulled the Cougars even late in the second period. Cassidy Maplethorpe opened the scoring for the Pandas just over three minutes into the game.
Kaitlyn Ross made 10 saves for MRU, while Halle Oswald turned aside 22 shots for Alberta.
In the best-of-three final, the Cougars will face the top-seeded and host UBC Thunderbirds this Friday to Sunday.
Both MRU and UBC have also qualified for the U SPORTS national championship to be hosted by the University of Montreal March 16-19.

OTHER PLAYOFF MATCHUPS
Matchups have been set for other MRU and University of Calgary Dinos teams that have advanced in their post-seasons:
The third-seeded Dinos women’s basketball team will host the No. 4 Pandas for a one-game conference final on Saturday (2 p.m.) at the Jack Simpson Gym. Both teams will then head to nationals taking place in Sydney, N.S., March 9-12.
The top-seeded Dinos men’s hockey team will host No. 2 Alberta for a best-of-three conference final series this Friday to Sunday. Both teams will then head to nationals hosted by the University of Prince Edward Island March 16-19.
The second-seeded Cougars women’s volleyball team will host No. 6 Manitoba for a best-of-three semifinal series at Kenyon Court this week.
The seventh-seeded Dinos men’s volleyball team will travel to Langley, B.C., to face No. 3 Trinity Western in a best-of-three semifinal series Thursday to Saturday.
