Students stuck living in Brandon University’s residences because of the COVID-19 pandemic were presented with a treat earlier this week.
While most students have moved out of residence, students unable to travel home because of the pandemic are being allowed to stay on campus.
Through donations from the university’s alumni association, local businesses and individuals in the community, students in residence were given BU-branded tote bags containing snacks, homemade muffins, puzzle books, tissues, a water bottle, coupons and gift cards.
“This care package really brightened my day for sure,” student Yushan Yang was quoted as saying in a release sent out by the school.
“I really appreciate the concern from Brandon University and from alumni.”
The university’s director of advancement and alumni affairs Carla Eisler told the Sun that 19 students remained in residence as of Monday.
