Peace Region player named Canada West volleyball First-Team All-Star

Wanham’s Quinn Pelland has been named a First-Team volleyball All-Star for Canada West.

Pelland plays for Mount Royal University (MRU) in Calgary and is coming off a strong season for the Cougars.

This season, Pelland was ranked among the top Canada West players for service aces per set (.46) and assists per set at 9.25. She was ranked fourth and fifth overall respectively in Canada West in those categories.

Pelland also led Canada West with the highest services aces record this season with 31.

MRU says Pelland’s best game of the season came on January 29 against the University of Alberta Pandas where she recorded 59 assists which was a new Cougars record.

The Cougars held a record of 14-4 and are currently in the Canada West playoffs. They have games scheduled against the University of Calgary Dinos on March 11 and the University of British Columbia Thunderbirds on March 13.
