There's a new face on the Drumheller Dragons, although you won't be seeing her on the ice.

 

"We've brought on Rebecca Kuresh, she will be our athletic therapist," announced the team's business manager, Dustin Edwards. "It's someone that nobody wants to see, but it sounds like we've got the right personRebecca Kuresh. "She graduated from Mount Royal University, the athletic therapy program, and she has a bachelors degree in human kinetics and psychology as well from UBC," he elaborated. "She's going to be strength conditioning and having that psychology side as well is an important part, as players always lean on that person in that role."

 

Kuresh will begin her new job with the Dragons on August 8 and Edwards thinks she'll be busy.

 

"When you're a young group of guys playing, sometimes they spend a lot of time with their athletic therapist," he told Drum FM. "They will really lean on them, not only for the physical side, but for that mental side as well; they're always there, they're always around, so it's an important part and we'll certainly use Rebecca in that aspect as well."
