Win tickets to Copperhead, Emily Triggs or Hawksley Workman on Friday night

Who doesn’t love “choose your own adventures”?

Especially when it comes to entertainment options on a Friday night.

Well, we’re going to let you make a choice between three exception musical events happening in Calgary this Nov. 22.

Thanks to some pretty incredible friends at venues in the city, we’re going to set you up with a pair of tickets to one of those shows — all of you have to do is pick one and cross your fingers.

The first one is local rock powerhouse Copperhead, who will be performing at Studio Bell as part of the National Music Centre’s Alberta Spotlight series, of which theYYSCENE is proud media sponsors. Led by smokey vocalist Liz Stevens and fellow songwriter/producer Kirill Telichev, they are one of the city’s finest.

Choice No. 2 is another Calgary artist: Emily Triggs. The superb singer-songwriter is celebrating the release of her new album Middletown, a deeply moving yet catchy collection of honest, earnest and evocative folk ‘n’ Canadiana. The show is being hosted by some other great friends of ours, the folk fest, at their Inglewood home Festival Hall.

And last, but not least, there is the show by Canadian fave Hawksley Workman at the beautiful Bella Concert Hall in Mount Royal University’s Taylor Centre for the Performing Arts. It should be intimate, it should be wonderful, as he always is.

So there you go, there are your adventures. Pick one, maybe two, then head to our Facebook page, find this post, leave a message underneath with your top pick(s) — you can’t go wrong with any of them — and tag a music-loving friend who you would like to take.

We’ll let the winners know before noon on the Friday, so make sure you have no plans for any other adventures that night.

Good luck.

And please keep supporting live music in this city and those venues and people that bring it to you.

Cheers.
