Ultimate Kids In the Hall Fan Giveaway: Win tickets to see Scott Thompson at the High Performance Rodeo, Bruce McCulloch at the Bella Concert Hall

Everyone loves the Kids In the Hall. It’s not a debate.

But who among you loves them the most? Who is the biggest local fan of the groundbreaking Canadian sketch comedy troupe, whose celebrated career has been chronicled in the recently released authorized biography by Paul Myers, One Dumb Guy?

Well, we’re about to find out.

You see, due to a fabulous and fortuitous bit of scheduling, Mr. Scott Thompson will be in Calgary during this year’s High Performance Rodeo performing his one-man show Après Le Déluge: The Buddy Cole Monologues the week of Jan. 23 to Jan. 26 at the Big Secret Theatre. The very next night, Sunday, Jan. 27, his friend, fellow Kid and former Calgarian Bruce McCulloch will be at his old alma mater, Mount Royal University, performing his one-man show Tales of Bravery and Stupidity at the Bella Concert Hall in the Taylor Centre for the Performing Arts.

Pretty awesome, huh?

Even more awesome? Our very, very good friends at One Yellow Rabbit and MRU have been kind enough to give us a pair of tickets each to Thompson’s Wednesday, Jan. 23 opening night and McCulloch’s Sunday homecoming, which also includes a performance of This Hour Has 22 Minutes mainstay Cathy Jones’s own one-woman show The Impossible Cathy Jones Rides Again!

Sure, we could give them away in two different contests, but we thought it would be better to make one KITH fan’s life a little more excellent. So we’re going to package them up and give them both away to one lucky winner. Two Kids’ shows in one week.

All you have to do is head to our Facebook page, give us a like or a follow, find this posting, and in the comments tell us why are you are the biggest Kids fan and deserving of both pairs of tickets — one word, one memory, an epic diatribe, photo, etc. You should also tag a friend or two you might want to take or think could be an even bigger lover of the troupe. (Please note: If you are not on Facebook, we will also accept entries if you email your plea to info@theyyscene.com.)

We’ll let the winner know via direct message (or email) by the end of the day, Monday, Jan. 21.

Good luck and, should you not win, please still support both the High Performance Rodeo (Jan. 9 to 27) and all of the great acts and events MRU is bringing to Calgary throughout the year.

Oh, and, on that note, should you also like what it is we do for arts and culture in this city, please consider becoming a patron of theYYSCENE by pledging to our Patreon campaign. We would appreciate the support.
